šš» Hello
Happy February book lovers! I hope the start of 2026 is treating you well.
Moore to Love is a behind-the-scenes look at my writing life, but sometimes the day-to-day of that can be monotonous.
Recently, Iāve been doing copyedits. That means riveting activities like searching for the words ājustā and āreallyā and removing most of them from the novel. But Iāve managed to tighten the prose in my manuscript to the tune of a few thousands words. Honestly, I was shocked and impressed.
And the copyedits are done now! Woohoo! Which means my manuscript is ready for the next step. But more on that later.
For now, letās get on with the highlights, shall we?
š„³ Iām a finalist in the Sapphire Award
What is the Sapphire Award? Itās a contest run by the Romance Writers of Australia, where published authors can submit an unpublished manuscript for evaluation.
I entered the contest late last year (it was a last-minute decision) but I am so glad I did, because my manuscript got through to round two. Not only that, but between you and me, it received full marks. Full marks!!
Talk about a mood booster.
Final results arenāt until August, but Iām hoping to carry the positive energy with me through the rest of my writing year.
Speaking of which ā¦

Writing goals check-in
Last month, I shared my 2026 writing goals and promised to keep you updated. Iām happy to report that one item has been crossed off:
Finish edits on Project Mountains.
Did you miss learning about Project Mountains? Catch up here:
Now that the manuscript is as polished as I can make it, I have been submitting it to publishers.
My fingers are crossed, but my breath is not held as the waiting time can be months.
Good thing Iāve still got a bunch of other things on my list.
Still to do:
Project Cities rewrite, then:
Complete my own first edit.
Send to beta-readers.
Complete second edits.
Prepare my Romance Writers of Australia presentation.
Self-publish a short story.
Audiobook recording trial of that same short story.
What is Project Cities?
A new standalone contemporary romance set all around Australia. Yes, itās road trip vibes! (But itās actually plane trips.)
Want a taste? Iāve started pulling together a playlist for Project Cities. These songs evoke the mood of the book, or speak to the characters.
And youāre the first to know about it:
š Sale ending soon
Four Night Stand is on sale! But only until the end of February. (I know. Sadness.)
(Also, the book turns two on Sunday, did you know?)
So this is your last chance to grab the eBook for $3.99, which is a total steal because itās usually $12.99. Go on, treat yourself to a:
āsizzling page turner packed with chemistryā
āflirty, fun and feel-good readā
āsteamy and swoony ⦠rom-com [that] will have your pulse racingā
